Live in the Sunshine, swim the sea and drink the wild air.
- Ralph Emerson
Divine timing is everything and I am not one to shy away from a challenge. My challenges these days tend not to come from a person but from guidance within. Whether you are spiritual or not we all have an inner guide that provides us with feedback and when we choose to listen with love it is incredible where this guidance can take us.
It is that which challenges us most that allows us to expand our experiences and grow beyond our comfort zone and lead us to a future where we are able to support others going through a similar process.
As a Wellbeing Coach I am pretty switched on my own health. In saying that it has been a while since I have foregone my morning coffee or my glass of wine on an evening and feel it is time to make some changes. While my vice' s are minor they do create a crutch in my life and I catch myself saying "I can't function without my coffee." or "I really need a glass of wine after a day like today." We so often shy away from really feeling our emotions particularly if they are giving us a message to make changes in our lives. Whether it is food, alcohol or drugs, we look for ways to escape to make us feel better in that moment because we can't bare to feel what is really going on. When we remove all the false security we are faced with our real fears and it is when we actually face these fears head on that we can see them for the false limitations that they really are and resolve them for good.
When you are faced with a real moment of truth in your life and you begin to reach for that distraction be it chocolate, a bottle of wine (or few), or your Facebook feed. STOP. Feel it and then ask the question.
How would you treat your best friend in this moment you're experiencing right now?
The past week in preparation for my 30 days I have really made myself aware of the language and unhelpful strategies that I use and have been face to face with much unhelpful dialogue. In each moment I choose to see love and this has shifted my perceptions greatly. It doesn't always work and it is definitely a work in progress but it is the desire to change that keeps us re-directing ourselves back to where we really want to be.
By removing the external crutch there is no where to go but within. It is time to ask some really important questions that will hopefully provide another leap of faith forward.
"I lose the world from all I thought it was and choose my own reality instead."
Personal Goals include:
With so much going on in my personal and professional life it is time to really focus on giving me the best chance possible to perform at my optimal and be of service to others. The way we achieve this is personal to everyone and for me that means a RESET cleanse and removing coffee, alcohol and anything that distracts me from my goals.
I have extended an invitation to friends and clients to join me on my RESET journey knowing that I am diving into this particular method as a skeptic who is open to using myself as a test case. Alongside this actual cleanse program which is not my own I am providing my support, coaching and training.
This blog includes my own personal insights and experiences as well as anonymous insights from participants that may help someone else who makes a decision to follow my Reset program in the future.
I have very strong views on replacing real food with a liquid meal as this is often used as a short term bandaid solution to losing weight and from personal observations rarely shifts the longer-term lifestyle habits or behaviours. In saying that a nutrient dense smoothie can be a great way to ensure good nutrition when you lead a busy life and if this works for the individual and provides them with good quality nutrition this can be a useful tool. Post program support is key and introducing healthy eating habits from well supported guidelines is important to ensure maintenance of benefits gained by the individual.
I have no doubt the cleanse will work however I want it to work in a constructive and supportive way and this is where the test really is.
By supporting others and writing daily I am locked in and will have to confess any sneaky coffee or wine therefore you will be my support team to ensure I stay on track.
